Based in Geneva, Seedstars World is an exclusive seed-stage startup competition focused on emerging markets. The mission is to discover the best startups beyond Silicon Valley and Western Europe and help them succeed.
To achieve this mission, Seedstars World has been travelling for the past 10 months to 36 countries around the world, targeting emerging markets and fast growing startup scenes. There, their team held startup pitching events and an experienced panel of judges selected one startup to attend the final of the competition, to compete for the equity investment up to $500,000.
The 36 startups selected for the acclaimed final event have all been invited to spend a week in Geneva and through a two day bootcamp at EPFL, they are going to be coached to perfect their pitches, followed by the semi-final.

During the opening keynote to the Seedstars World Finals, Jesse Moore will share with you his experience with founding M-KOPA Solar, a company that saves customers money by replacing kerosene with affordable renewable energy across Africa. What were the factors that helped him decide that the market is ready for this?
14:45 - 15:10 Around the World with Seedstars World
The Seedstars World team will share their main takeaways from the 2014 tour and explain why it is worth paying more attention to the emerging markets.
15:10 - 16:10 Seedstars World Final Pitching event
The 10 best startups, selected through the semi-final round, will take the main stage and showcase their businesses. Each startup will have allocated 5 minutes to present their company and the jury panel, consisting of Johnny el Hachem, Jens Lapinski, Jose Marin, Marco Corradino and Pierre-Alain Mason.
