Laur Hesse Fisher is a research scientist at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Center for Collective Intelligence (CCI) and the project manager of the Climate CoLab, which is attempting to crowdsource solutions to the world’s biggest problems, starting with climate change. A quickly growing community of over 45,000 people around the world, the Climate CoLab allows anyone with an internet connection to work with experts and each other to develop detailed proposals for how to address climate change.
Laur has worked for municipalities, start-ups and social organizations to advance solutions to various aspects of the climate change challenge, such as carbon management and reporting, municipal recycling and waste management, renewable energy, green buildings, community engagement, and education; and has worked in Canada, Sweden, New Zealand and the United States.
She graduated magna cum laude from Tufts University with a self-designed degree titled, "Engaging Sustainability as an Innovative Process.”
