In this Ask Me Anything session, we will get the chance to dive deep into the promises and perils of synthetic biology with pioneer Rob Carlson. Five years has passed since he published Biology is Technology and a lot has happened in the field. Some hopes have died and others have emerged. So did some fears. In complement to his talk, this breakout session will give everyone at Lift Basel a chance to discuss what we have learnt from the past successes and failures in engineering life. A clearer picture of what is needed to turn the young discipline into an impactful player of the bioeconomy may emerge from the discussion.
