Kevin Blackman is a national of Trinidad and Tobago with a B.Sc. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering (with honors) from the University of the West Indies, and an Executive MBA in Technology from EPFL.
After graduating as a national scholar in his native country, he began his career consulting in a team that setup the first Internet Service Provider nationally. This eventually led to roles in quasi-public institutions facilitating trade, promoting technology sector investment and development, assisting in the introduction of venture capital legislation, and advising government on policy, strategy and infrastructure development. His last position in Trinidad was as project manager for the National Science and Technology Innovation park, at TIDCO (Trinidad and Tobago) to create a facilitation environment for investment in high technology.
His work in Melbourne, Australia in a joint lab with several Pan-American and Asian countries in the development of secure electronic trading, and application of strong cryptography in national information infrastructures, eventually led him to Geneva, where he joined WISeKey SA, a leader in secure electronic IDs and transformative secure internet services. After starting off as a product manager, he eventually became the Chief Technology Officer at WISeKey a role in which he was instrumental in building the engineering team across Europe and Asia, product strategy and development, and professional services.
Kevin recently left WISeKey in late 2015 to pursue multiple interests, particularly startup ventures in the areas of digital media and mobile.
