Luca is a Data Scientist at Gamaya and a guest postdoc in Machine Learning at EPFL. He received his M.Sc. in Physics in 2006 and his Ph.D. in Machine Learning in 2010 at the University of Genova, Italy, and then joined the Computer Science Department of the University College London, UK, prior to moving to the Laboratory of Information and Inference Systems at EPFL.
His research interests include model-based machine learning and compressive sensing and optimization.
Currently he is applying his skills to develop imaging-based analytics for precision agriculture at Gamaya, a start-up in the EPFL Innovation Park. Besides the technology-based professional background, he has a strong passion for art and philosophy.
