Verena Ringler is a European affairs specialist who focuses on harnessing the power of innovation and multi-disciplinary thinking for Europe’s future policies as well as its foreign and security challenges. Verena started her own company in this field in 2005, www.europeancommons.eu. In parallel, she is a project manager for Europe with Stiftung Mercator, one of Germany’s large private foundations, since 2013. Verena’s professional experience includes stints in EU diplomacy (Pristina, 2006 – 09) magazine journalism (with Foreign Policy in Washington, 2002 – 06) and project-based work (election monitoring, think tank analyses and reports on EU enlargement, CEE/ Central Asia). Verena spoke at TEDx Innsbruck in 2012 and won an EU Young Journalist award with a piece in the magazine brand eins in 2010.
