Justin Pickard

Justin Pickard is a writer, researcher, and gonzo futurist. Studying for a PhD at the STEPS Centre, his research work focuses on the lived experience of climate-linked uncertainty, resilience, and adaptive capacity in urban India.

At various points in the past five years, Justin has 'game mastered' a massively-multiplayer online forecasting simulation, stumbled around north London with a lump of plastic taped to his face, and – most recently – helped herd thirty teenagers through a two-week intensive residential course in foresight and innovation. He is also an associate at multidisciplinary design company Superflux, where he keeps a close eye on the intersection of new technologies and everyday life.
