Fabienne Kilchör graduated in Visual Communication from the University of Art and Design in Geneva (HEAD) in 2006. She is co-founder and project manager of the design agency Emphase Sàrl (Emphase Ltd.). Together with Sébastien Fasel and a junior designer she is working in the field of Visual Communication and Information Design. Since 2010 Fabienne and Sébastien have been teaching Information Design as well as organizing workshops within the field of Data Structuring at the HEAD–Geneva. Since 2012 Fabienne and Sébastien are working for several design research projects at the HEAD–Geneva within the framework of Knowledge Visualization and Visual Cartography. From 2008 to 2011, Fabienne initiated and led several research projects at the Bern University (Faculty of Arts and Applied Sciences) as a Research Assistant. Her field of research is primarily focused on Communication Design of Knowledge Visualization and Culture Heritage Visualization. In 2012, Fabienne received a three year research fund from the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNF/FNS). The PhD-thesis entitled "Data Visualization of Excavation Documentation Using the Methods of Knowledge Visualization" is associated with the Institute of Archaeological Sciences, Department of Near Eastern Archaeology.
