Gerrit-Jan is a professor at the Centre for eLaw@Leiden of Leiden University. He is a well-known and extensively published specialist in privacy and telecoms law. He is also is a partner in the Telecommunications, Information Technology and Media groups in the Bird & Bird LLP office in the Hague. He advises on regulatory matters, commercial electronic communications, credit referencing, international data transfer arrangements, data protection aspects of outsourcing and smart meters.
