Henri Bergius, a.k.a. Bergie, originally from the Nordic country of Finland has now settled in Berlin. A developer but also an adventurer, Henri travels the world not only to fulfill his desire of discovery but also to be the advocate of inter operation between open source CMSs. He works on a new generation of web editing interface with Create.js and Flow-Based Programming with NoFlo.js. He is currently revolutionizing the way we create websites at The Grid. After half a decade of regular web development, Bergie got involved with free software in 1999 by coordinating the public release of the Midgard content management system (an open website framework). Since then, he has been actively working on integrating standards like RDFa (Resource Descriptive Framework, a semantic web standard) into the system.
Henri’s frustration in the state of software development, using many little algorithms and pieces of code he had to modify for each different project, drove him to start working on NoFlo. This Flow-Based programming helped him create multi-threading and logical flows of code. It enables anyone to integrate many inputs that will all work together no matter the website framework.

All his previous work and research enabled people to design websites in a more logical and accessible way. Henri is now VP Engineering at The Grid, an epic new vision for the website. The Grid uses the power of artificial intelligence to design your website and shape it automatically according to the content you publish.
