Being a child in a time when the first humans put their feet on the moon, I was particularly impressed by huge buildings filled up with large blue boxes called «computers» that were essential to make this breakthrough possible. This started the fascination for the almost unlimited possibilities opened up in the digital space. As computers still filled up an entire TV studio at the time, my parents allowed me to participate in a correspondence course in computer programming at the age of 12. After a couple of years I developed my first cross-compiler at school and later started studying computer science at the University of Zurich. In parallel I was always developing products like a macro controlled editor or an ISDN transmission card and founding new companies among them one of Switzerland's leading ISPs and later on futureLAB, a company dedicated to explore and develop tomorrow's applications today.
